Constipation?

For the first month and a half, my little one was purely breastfed. Now he's breastfed and then fed breastmilk in a bottle while I'm at work. Over the last week he's been constipated. He pooped last monday, then last friday and hasn't pooped since. It's now Tuesday. Why is he constipated and what is the fastest easiest safest solution?

Does he act constipated and/or in discomfort?  Many breastfed babies do not have a BM ever day, and in fact are in a pattern of having a BM every few days or even greater than a week.  If he doesn't act like he is in pain/discomfort, I'd settle for changing less poopy diapers!
