I have been dealing with bleeding off and on throughout this pregnancy and I am almost 17wks now. I had an US today that measured my cervix to be 2.8cm. I had preterm labor with my first son at 32wks, so I am concerned about whether or not I have an incompetent cervix. I have read that the cervix should be >3.0cm so I am nervous that I already shorter than that this early in my pregnancy. Has anyone else had experience with this type of situation? What was the opinion of your OB?
I do not have that problem. However a good friend of mine has a similar problem. She actually had 3 miscarrages due to her cervix dialating too early in her pregnancy. This time around she had a procedure that actually stiched her cervix so that would not happen. She is 36 weeks along now and doing great. Did your dr. talk to you about that?
