TTC After a Loss

Talk to me about vitex

For ladies who use it, can you give me the details?  I want to know things like:

- how much do you take?
- how often do you take it?
- do you take it from cd1 - o?
- do you take it with any other supplements?
- do you avoid taking it with anything?
- how long did it take to start working?

Anything else I should know?

TIA!!

Re: Talk to me about vitex

  • - how much do you take? 1 400mg tablet
    - how often do you take it? One a day
    - do you take it from cd1 - o? I will take it everyday
    - do you take it with any other supplements? Prenatal and progesterone cream after o
    - do you avoid taking it with anything? I know they say dont take it with clomid
    - how long did it take to start working? I hear three months I just started this cycle and I can already see a difference (not sure good or bad but a difference)

For ladies who use it, can you give me the details?  I want to know things like:

    - how much do you take? 800mg
    - how often do you take it?  2 pills at night
    - do you take it from cd1 - o?  I will continue it after O.  I read conflicting reports on whether or not to stop.
    - do you take it with any other supplements?  B6, EPO
    - do you avoid taking it with anything?  No.  I know you can't take it with fertility drugs though.
    - how long did it take to start working?  I just started it this cycle.  I haven't O'd yet, which makes this cycle's O later than last cycle.  I still haven't passed my latest O time though.

    Anything else I should know?

    TIA!!

Thanks for the input!  I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be cd1, so I want to be prepared.  I bought 400mg pills today, so I'm ready to go.

Why are you guys taking 400/800 respectively?  How did you decide which amount to take?

  • - how much do you take? I'm taking 800mg a day
    - how often do you take it? I take one 400mg pill in the morning and in the evening
    - do you take it from cd1 - o? I'm going to take it all cycle, but stop if I get a BFP
    - do you take it with any other supplements? prenatal and pom pill
    - do you avoid taking it with anything? I was taking B6 and women's energy tea with dong quai, but I stopped those when I started the vitex because it just felt like too much to take.
    - how long did it take to start working? I just started taking it on cd7 this cycle, so I'm still waiting to see if it'll work. I have heard, though, to give it 3-6 months to see a difference.

    - Why are you guys taking 400/800 respectively?  How did you decide which amount to take? the bottle I bought recommends taking 1 pill 2-3 times a day for 8-12 weeks then 1 pill a day after that.
