I am taking a trip next week and will be flying. I am bringing my pump with me, and am hoping to be able to bring some pumped milk back. Does TSA give you a hard time about using the ice pack to keep your milk cool?
I have never traveled with an actual ice pack, just the milk in an insulated pouch (straight from a fridge and with a 2 hour journey to the home fridge). They usually just take the milk for extra screening (after the x-ray) which they can do without opening it. In theory you should be able to bring it with a frozen ice pack (=not liquid) but I have heard stories. Good luck.

No problems traveling with ice packs for me. LaGuardia waved some strips around it to detect explosives. DIA put the containers in a machine to do the same. Neither touched the blue ice packs or opened the bottles.
