I have a friend that has this condition. She just miscarried and thinks she might have twice before earlier this year. This one has been confirmed the other two were not. She has some food allergies and has now been put on a stricter diet. They think her body may be attacking the embryo so they are cutting out anything that could cause her imune system to be strained.
Does anyone have any information regarding this utereran condition? Or the allergies causing a miscarraige. I would like to give her a little information to help her. She is feeling responsible due to her allergies and I would like to herlp her feel a little better. TIA.
Re: Endometrius, is this the correct term?
If she's having recurring miscarriages, I would have her ask her doctor to run blood work to check for clotting disorders. It can be a common reason for miscarriage and typically, a blood thinner can fix it. I have a clotting disorder and take lovenox for it.
As for the allergies and I think you mean endometriosis, I don't really have any information. I have endometriosis but besides having a lap (procedure to remove it), I'm not sure what else you can do about it.
I am pretty sure there is no correlation between endomitriosis and allergies. I've done a bit of research on endo and have never come across anything like that.
I've also never heard of allergies causing miscarriages....
I have endo and because of it's location (covers my ovaries) we had to do IVF. Endo is not very well understood and its affects on fertility can vary. Some women who have endo have no problem at all, some need a little help (IUI) and others, like me have to do IVF.
There has been some research that has shown certain autoimmune disorders are associated with endo & an increase of natural killer cells that can attack the embryo and cause early miscarriages. A reproductive endocrinologist can test for these autoimmune issues and address them as needed.
There are also some natural/alternative ways to address endo and possible autoimmune issues associated with. One is the endometriosis diet. There are also supplements you can take to help boost your immune system.
here are some resources that have good credible info regarding endo:

Good luck to your friend!
Excellent information! Yes, endometriosis is linked to both infertility as well as repeat miscarriages. My mother had severe endometriosis (they didn't know this until she had her hysterectomy in her 40's) which likely contributed to her being able to conceive but never being able to carry successfully (all of us kids are adopted).
I hope your friend is able to find a doctor who is both knowledgeable and proactive for your friend!
