Spelling Suggestions?

I'm pretty sure we're set on Bodi.  Thing is, there are about 10 different ways to spell it.  I don't want anything to "out there" or "trying to hard", but making it easy to pronounce.  It is originally spelled Bodi, but I hate names that end in "i".

Ok help me out:

Boedie

Boedy

Boadie (my sister suggested this one - I think it looks like toad)

Bodie

Is it for a boy or girl? Idk, for a boy I'd say Body, Bodi or Bodie for a girl...

  • I would go with Bodhi. Bodie is ok, but both Bodi and Bodie make me want to pronounce it like "body."
  • The only spelling I have ever seen is Bodhi.  I love it.

    Boy: Bodhi or Boedy

    Girl: Boedie or Boedi

Don't know why, but that is how I think of it! :)

It's for a boy, and omg I love it with the "h"!! I was leary of it being pronounced "Body" too, I think there was a pro skateboarder who spelled it that way, but it's just a confusing conversations waiting to happen.

  • I know a Bode and a Bodhi
Finley Belle 12/27/07 Ezra Bennett 10/02/09 Josephine Pearl 12/31/11 H is for Hillman
  • Jenna Elfman's husband is Bodhi Elfman.  And I've heard of Bode Miller, the pro skiier. Both pronounced Bow-Dee.

I'd probably only use either spelling. Though the name is nms.

  • I would go for Bodhi, as in bodhisattva.

  • yeah, I agree with Bodi or Bodhi! :)
  • This was our Boy's name (were on team green).  We were going to spell it Bode.  It is also my MIL maiden name.

There is a skier named Bode Miller, although that is not his real first name

  • Spelling it Bodhi like others have suggested looks more complete to me than Bodi.  The other spelling options are awkward or might be mistaken for body.

  • Boedie and Boedy -- there is no need for the "e" -- it's just an added vowel -- I hate when people do that.  Bodie or Bodey would be best.
