Babies: 9 - 12 Months

morning wake up and nap schedules for 10mo old

anyone's LO starting to wake up earlier and nap less hrs?

He goes down between 8 and 8:30 and used to sleep until 8 or 8:30  and then take about a 2 hr nap in the early morning and mid afternoon but is now getting up around 7 and is only taking about a 1 hr nap each time now. This boy needs the sleep so Im not sure what is causing the change in schedule

what is you LO's bedtime, wake up, and nap time?

  • I would try going down to one nap a day to see if things even out some. I know its a little early but both my girls dropped thier morning nap at 10 months. The first week or so i had to keep lo#2 occupied until I laid her down around noon but all is good now and back to normal. She wakes up around 7:30, lays down at 1:00 for her nap and normally naps about 2.5 hours and goes to bed at 8.

    This is Jacob's schedule, exactly.

  • DD is almost 10 months.  She has recently tried to drop to just 1 nap in the middle of the day.  Normally during the week she gets in a good 2 hours...on the weekend - lucky if it is 30 minutes.

She is up around 6:00 - 6:30 - nap time is usually 12 to 2 and then bed - 8:30 to 9:00 but sometimes she pushes it later - have had a harder time getting her to bed lately.

Also, she will sometimes try to take another late nap at 5 or 6.  I don't mind as I don't get home from work until 7:30 or so - so if she stays up later at night - no big deal.

  • Wake up between 7-9:30am. Usually nap after about 1-2 hours of being awake, for 2-4 hours. Sometimes she won't take another nap. If she does it's usually around 4, for a little over an hour. Bed time is anywhere from 6-9, but usually around 7:30pm.

We try not to keep her on too much of a rigid schedule. She pretty much dictates it all.

  • My DD went through a spell where she was waking up really early and taking short naps.  It lasted a couple of weeks and she went back to our normal.  We have been doing the following schedule for a couple of months:

    7 - wake up

    9:30 Nap (2 hours)

    2:30 Nap  (2 hours)

    7:30 - 8:00 Bedtime

This except naps are sometimes only an hour.  DS goes to sleep between 6:30 and 7:30.  He doesnt always nap well and wakes up at 5:30 most days but he is always soooo tired!
