OB HELP!!

My DH switched jobs last month and we had to change insurance, but I have come to find out that my OB doesn't take our new insurance.  We can't afford to do out-of-network for this baby, so now at 26 weeks pregnant I need to switch doctors.  I am freaking out.  Can you ladies recommend who you go to so I can check if any of them are on my insurance.

We live in Mason, and I would like to deliver at Bethesda North.

TIA!!

Re: OB HELP!!

  • I go to Crescent Women's in Montgomery and they only deliver at B North.  They are great! Unfortunately, they are stopping the OB part and focusing only on gyn starting in March. That could mean switching doctor's again for you for any future children.

  • Group Health Associates is who I go to and who delivered Brynn (at Bethesda North). My primary is Dr. Lewis (who delivered Brynn) but I got to know the other 3 doctors pretty well since I had a bit of a complication at the end. Dr. Lewis is really nice and straight to the point, Dr. Samon is great and has an awsome bedside manner, Dr. Buckley is old school and tends to sway towards the conservative side, Dr. Badaiwi is my least favorite. I saw her for two appointments and once during my hospital visit at 34.5 weeks. She is just so-so. She answered my questions, but was in a rush to get out of there.

All in all I really liked them and the care that I got during my pregnancy and delivery.

  • dr froehlich! His office is in montgomery and he delivers at B North
  • I use the Northeast Center for Women's Health.  They are located on Montgomery Rd very close to B North.  I have had good experiences with all 3 docs at the practice. Good luck!

  • I second bekahsch23! Dr. Froehlich is great and his NP, Cheryl is awesome as well! He came recommended to me when I wanted to switch Dr.'s because my original Dr. didn't go to B North or Good Sam and we wanted to go there. He has privlages at both hospitals but prefers B North unless you need Good Sam (for the babies health or yours).

  • I second Group Health- I go to their Kenwood office- however, they all still practice both locations. I love Dr. Buckley but Dr. Lewis delivered Charlotte so it was a little of everything. Dr. Samol saw me a few more times as well and I loved his care...
  • I'm using Associates in Women's Health in Montgomery (right by Sycamore High School) and they deliver at Bethesda North. I love Dr. Gennari and I'm getting to know the others as well. They are normally very busy, but wanted to give you the name anyway!

  • Associates in Womens Health is who I have seen for a few years now. They came highly recommended to me and I love them as well. I am even using out of network benefits to see them for my pregnancy, because I didn't want to switch to a new dr when I found out I was pregnant. My husband was even impressed with the dr's when he went with me for my visit. They are on Cornell Rd near the corner of Cornell & Montgomery and they deliver at B North.
