I tried using ground flaxseed 1 T + 3 T water for each egg for my cake mix. Taste is great but it breaks apart in crumbles

Thanks! I'll have to try that next time.
My sister swears by the following (she nannied for a little boy with a severe egg allergy and baked a wide variety of stuff using this substitute): for each egg the recipe calls for, you mix together 1 Tb oil, 1 Tb water, and a teaspoon of baking powder.
I haven't tried it myself since despite Alex's egg allergy, he can handle eggs in baked goods, but she thought it worked really well.
