XP - IUI ladies - how many follies does your RE want to see?

For those that have done IUI - how many follicles does your RE want to see? Can you also state if you were/are on Clomid, Femara or injectibles?

I've only gotten 1 follie each cycle of 50mg Clomid. I ovulate on my own, so how is this really any better? The nurse said that 1 follie is all they want to see. I've read all of your stories/experiences and it sounds like your RE's are trying to help you achiever higher # of follies.

I'm 36 and DH is 46, so the clock is definitely ticking. We would be thrilled with twins. If this cycle does't work out, I'm debating going in for a "regroup" to ask about either increasing dosage of Clomid or moving on to injectibles.

I was on Femara when I did my IUI's.  Both times I only had one follie at trigger. My RE was happy with that just being on Femara.

I had one follie (maybe a small second one that may have been ok at trigger) Clomid 100 and various doses of follistim. Re never seemed Concerned that we did not have more But I also thought it was not any better that me Oing on my own.

I was just on Femara/Injectibles. I had 1 big one and 3 medium sized that could or could not have mature eggs, and a bunch of tiny ones below 10 that wouldn't be anything. The RE was worried about this, but I confirmed I would reduce if necessary, but that I wasn't really worried at all since I've never been able to get pregnant to begin with. She said they just had a 40 year old woman get pregnant with quadruplets who said the same thing. They are VERY conscientious and worried about multiples, even with AMA women. So they won't allow too many follies. I don't know the exact cutoff though.

Our prefers 2 or 3 but they'll are okay with 1 (which is what I had this round of IUI)

We go with injectibles and I prefer them over Clomid, etc. The one time we had BFP there were 2 or 3 follies that were between 16 and 18 in size. The one follie this time was 18.5.

The 2WW is torture...

Thanks ladies! I have to decide what to do about it next, if anything. I did get a - this morning but I'm only 11dpiui so I'm trying to hold out some hope. Given how stressed I've been the past month with selling/buying houses, moving, my furbaby being sick, I'm not surprised it wouldn't work. Then again I've read that study that says that stress doesn't impact IF! LOL

When I saw my RE he told me that I had 8 and he said that wasn't great but not bad either.  What does that mean?

My RE seemed happy with 2-3.  I had 5 one time (on Clomid), and I got the "would you reduce" talk.  I did both Clomid and Femara, and I was anywhere between 1-5 depending on the cycle.  They did not seem happy when I only had 1, but that is all I had for our last IUI and it worked; go figure...
