February 2012 Moms

Where are the military mamas-to-be at?

I noticed on a previous thread that there are a few of us here! My husband is in the Air Force and just returned home from a deployment in May. He is leaving again in XX amount of days for a two month training and then home until the baby is born (hopefully) and then leaving again for seven months! :(

I want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I understand what you're going through if you have a spouse that is gone or leaving. I will say that deployments have made our marriage rock solid and I am very proud to be an AF wife! :-)

Re: Where are the military mamas-to-be at?

  • Im here...we are a Navy family...with Hubs attached to a Marine unit right now out in Afghanistan.  We are having our "R&R" baby one we have been wanting for a while. We didnt have trouble conceiving just too many deployments kept delaying the process.  But hubs will be home for good in XX days which is so exciting.  I have 39 days till MIL is here and that means XX days later DH is here :) I cannot wait.

I <3 how deployments make you realize how much you love and honor your DH while he is gone and how much you cherish him even with the little irratating things when they are home.

  • Here I am, Here I am!! haha. We're a Navy family too! DH will be deployed in April of next year, but it's only a 9 monther. :) We're super thankful he'll be here for the birth.

I just hope that I don't get pregnant again before her leaves! eek! I've had a couple friends who have had Irish Twins.

  • Me too! We're Army stationed at Fort Riley.  Hubby just got home in March from Iraq, and has training scheduled for the entire month of February.  :/  Our midwife said she might possibly be able to get him out of it by "finding" something wrong that would require him to come home.  We learned at our last appointment that you can't Red Cross someone until AFTER the baby is born.  You can't call to let them know their wife has gone into labor!    Hoping that things work out and he'll be able to be here for the birth, but being a military wife, knowing that he might not be here for some births is something you just have to deal with.

  • Here I am! Naval Aviator family. My DH is leaving soon after the baby is born for a 7 month deployment. That isn't too horrible.

He may have a training session over the date my baby is due, so I am hoping we can get him to stay here, or get induced early, or maybe the baby will just come early!

  • I'm here. DH is in the Marines and is currently deployed. He actually deployed 2 days after I ovulated. I had to tell him we were pregnant through skype. We are thinking he won't be home for the birth either but he should be home a couple of months after the baby arrives.

  • I'm a military mom but not the same as any of you ladies... I'M the active duty one and my husband is my dependent... I'm a corpsman in the navy and stationed in the hampton roads area of VA...got pregnant on shore duty and it was planned... I'm completely blessed to be stationed where I am and be in this position right now...
  • I am NOT a Military Mama.. But, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for allowing your husbands/selves put themselves/yourselves on the line EVERYDAY for us (The American People)!!! My brother was in the Navy-Very thankful he came home--it was scary at times. I can't imagine my DH being gone for that long during this journey. So, again, THANK YOU LADIES for staying strong & showing a great example to future military families.

  • First off, wow, I didn't realize there were so many in Feb 2012 board :)

I'm a soon to be Army wife (3 days) but will not be living with him on base in Ft. Riley.  He is supposed to deploy sometime next year so hoping he will be here long enough to see LO born. He is finished with his 4 years a year after LO is due and we are going to talk about him re-enlisting (not sure how serious he is about it) and if he does, then I will move out with him.  We've survived 2.5 years of long distance and 1 deployment already.  I can't wait to finally be with him in the same location, whether that be at a new base, or back in MN.

  • Right here!! Im also an AF wife. My husband just returned from a deployment in March hoping he gets to stay for the birth of our baby but its up in the air now. Tons of TDYs from now till then booooo lol Love knowing im not the only one here!
