HCG levels too high?

I'm 5 weeks 3 days and I had my HCG checked 2 days ago and then again today. The nurse called and told me they pretty much looked good as far as doubling, she didn't say anything was wrong but now I am not sure if she knew I am at 5 weeks or not.

My first level was 10,779 and second was 16,918... according to the charts I have seen the highest level is 7340.

There are no twins in either side of our family so I don't think it would be twins, I have an ultra sound from Wednesday and there was just one gestational sac but I didn't see the yolk yet, it was still too small.

Also, I know we didn't miscalculate how far along we are because we only DTD once last month and also the U/S measured me at 5 weeks 2 days.

I read that more important than the levels are the fact that they are doubling every 48-72 hours so I don't want to get too worried... but it still makes me nervous.

Any experience with numbers like this?

Could it be possible that you're further along then you thought? But regardless, I wouldn't worry. HCG levels are all over the place for everyone. Mine were kind of low, yet I have twins, so who knows? In case they test you again, keep in mind that when your levels are over 6k it can take over 4 days to double. Oh, and my FIL is a twin, but it runs on the maternal side, not paternal, so I have no idea where mine came from! Just a blessing

Thanks.  We definitely didn't miscalculate because we only DTD once last month, and the U/S measured me at 5 weeks 2 days on Wednesday. 

I guess I shouldn't worry too much, I'm sure the doctor reviewed the results and would have wanted to have me back in if they were too high... but I can't help but worry. I wish they would have just been in the normal zone.

I've never heard of Them being too high. Low is an issue, but if you're really high, I'm sure you're fine

I'm having the same issue!!  I'm about 5 weeks 5 days today...At 5 weeks 3 days my beta was 27000!!  After 5 early losses, I'm cool with a high beta, but really???  I have a scan Tuesday next week and am very nervous.  

That being said I've seen a lot of posts from people who's levels are like mine and even higher and had nice normal pregnancies.  So lets try not to worry together.

At 5w6d mine were at 22,000 and then at 6w1d they were up to 36,000 . . . and there is only in there

I think your numbers are within range . . . At the point you are now, it takes 3-4 days for them to double. The range for 6 weeks is pretty wide and if you follow the 3-4 day doubling period you will within that range.
