1st Trimester

Waaa (Vent)

Okay, I have to open and close today with one of our new hires, just the two of us. SInce he and our other new hire started, my boss has been on paternity leave. They both went through the same week long training course and are supposed to be pretty close to self sufficient by the end of the week. The girl is doing great, the guy on the other hand (who I work with today) is just a mess. He comes in on some kind of drugs everyday and smells like alcohol. He messes things up so bad in his stupor it just makes me do my job, undo what he messed up, and then redo his job. So, in conlusion, I'm dreading work and nesting to avoid leaving. Sorry I know this was a bunch of whine but seriously, we have all decided we cannot work with him, so at least I know its not my irrational pregnant side.

  • I totally feel your pain.  I am training a new employee at work, and its been a week, she should know what shes doing by now, but no.  I had to teach her simple math.  How to find 50% of a number.  She needed a calculator every time.  I'm no genious, but I can figure out half of 100 without one! Drives me nuts, hopefully after the weekend she'll be better, otherwise she'll be getting the boot.

  • not sure what you do for a living, but if your new hire deals with the public or any clients you should call him a cab and send him home for smelling like alcohol. Get another coworker to sniff so that you have another opinion. It's a liability for your company to have a drunk guy on site.
