Ok, so can this week be any longer? I had a m/c at about 6w in October with severe cramping (went to the ER) and gushes of red blood. Now, we are about 6w pregnant (hopefully still) and when I wiped the other day I had brown blood. This continued on/off for a few days. Then, on Wednesday evening I had a LOT more brown blood on my undies/in the toilet w/little "pieces" with pretty bad period-like cramps. I immediately called my OB, went in for an exam and an U/S where they found nothing, as well as bloodwork. My HCG levels were at 444 two days ago. I THOUGHT I was going to get the results of my 2nd HCG levels today to let us know for sure if I'm m/c-ing again - but now I have to wait until Monday...I don't know why I still have a little glimmer of hope....until then...
has anyone experienced brown blood? If so, how much? Was it associated with small "pieces?! Did you have bad cramps? TMI sorry. Thanks, this post will hopefully get me thru the wknd!

Re: Brown blood at 6w? How much?
I haven't had experience with this myself, but my sister had some brown blood when she wiped - the dr. told her to stay off her feet for a few days. She did that and it stopped and never happened again.
good luck!
I had brown blood spotting but then had outright bleeding when I miscarried. I did have some cramping and I passed clots and tissue (sorry if TMI). I was in a similar situation where I had to wait until Monday for my 2nd Beta results. My doctor told me to rest and drinks LOTS of water that weekend. Of course my numbers showed a pregnancy that wasn't viable (I was 6 wks)...however if you haven't had red bleeding or clot passing, you should be okay (hopefully).
Hopefully I didn't scare you - just trying to give you another experience. Best of luck and try not to stress too much! Hugs!
My sister did not have pieces, but it was on the toilet paper when she wiped. She was about 8 weeks along I think. From I have heard and read they say you need to worry when its red blood. I think she had some mild cramping but it was 5 years ago so I am a little foggy on it.
I'm thinking of you!
Even with my bleeding, which did have some pieces with the brown blood (not the red) my baby is STILL doing great! My OB had me come in and they did an u/s but they didn't see anything wrong. When I continued to cramp and bleed they had me come in again for a full u/s (the first one was just with their portable u/s machine) and they found I actually had a small tear where the placenta tore away from the uterine wall. My OB said it was a threatened miscarriage, put me on pelvic rest and modified bed rest. When I went in 2 weeks later for a follow-up u/s the tear was 50% smaller and our baby is growing like a rock star!!!
SO, all of that being said, I'm proud of you for not just passing off the brown blood as 'normal' and for taking care of yourself and your baby and getting yourself to your OB. Until you find out the results, I would rest as much as possible, don't do things like run, jog, pick up or move heavy objects, etc. and try to do things that make you physically and mentally relax and find peace.
T&P to you!!!
Our third addition is on their way!
