So Random...Burst blood vessels? In my fingers?!

I just looked down at my hands and noticed that the tips of my pointer and middle finger have a purple circle that almost look like I burst blood vessels in them or have some sort of blood blister. I googled and have come up with a lot of things about varicose veins but not much about blood vessels...I just had my appointment this morning and they weren't there otherwise I would have asked about them. BP was fine (slightly elevated, 133/85 but it's always a little high before appointments plus it's hot as hell here) and I'm super swollen but assuming that has to do w/ the heat...Any ideas? Do you think this could be pregnancy related since we have more blood flowing? I feel stupid for posting this but am wondering what the heck it is and I certainly don't want to call the on-call doc for purple blister looking things! lol.

I think this happened to me last weekend! I was sitting outside with my husband's nephews and my MIL when the top of my hand started to hurt. My vein/blood vessel/whatever was very very large and painful and it was turning purple. I put an ice pack on it and racked my brain trying to think if I had just hit my hand on the outside metal chair...I just couldn't remember. Anyway, I've been watching it. The "swelling" went down after a few hours and a bruise was left behind. So weird...no idea what happened or caused it. My BP has been normal the entire pregnancy and I've only had 2 instances of swelling (after waking up from a nap and only in my feet).

I had something like this happen a few weeks back.  Mine hurt and it was after doing some light moving of things in my DS's room.  It was an area like a pooling of purple color in one finger.  I called the doctor (this happened during office hours) and they had me come in.  I was concerned it could possibly be a blood clot.  They basically looked at it and told me it wasn't a clot and to come back if it got worse.  By then it was much better and it wasn't an issue after that.

so strange...they are gone now! huh. and i don't remember hurting my fingers at all or doing anything to cause it.
