Parenting after a Loss

Short cervix update

I totally thought I was going back to the hospital today.  Doctor said she only let me come home because I am a compliant patient and she knows I will follow her orders.  I see the peri on Tuesday and we will let him be the decision maker if it goes down more.  It went from a 2.04 on Tuesday to a 1.7 today.  Yikes!

So I am to take it super duper easy - like I havent been already and crossing my fingers that it will be the same on Tuesday.

On a positive note baby looks good and was "breathing".  He is also super duper low and is pressing directly on my cervix.  She said after 34 weeks they quit doing these checks and would probably let me go home if I am in the hospital.

I know!  I just want what's best for my baby but this whole thing makes me glad we are having one of each so we have no temptation to have more.   The 3rd tri has been brutal this time around!

  • Crap. I'm sorry it's still shortening, but thank goodness they're keeping an eye on it. And I'm so glad your LO is still doing well! So are they saying after 34 weeks they're just let you go home and not stop him from coming if you went into labor?

I'm still sending T&P your way. Just a few more weeks to go. Keep cooking LO!

It is SO stressful. This is one of the main reasons I really could be one and done. The uncertainty and delicacy of it all can be exhausting.

I think they would try and stop my labor but she said cervical length is no longer indicative of PTL at 34 week and later.  I think she thinks I have a lot going for me.

    1.  I have a full term baby and that is the most telling when it comes to things like this.  She thinks this may have happened w/ DD and we just didnt know it so my body may just work like this and everything is fine.

    2.  I havent had any contractions and I am taking meds every 6 hours to prevent contractions.

    3.  I am going to be on even stricter BR at home which is what they would do in the hospital.

Her goal for me is 36 weeks.  My goal for me is 37-38.  Hopefully he will stay put for a while!

That makes perfect sense! Can you believe he will be here so soon?! Where did the time go? It always seems like others' pregnancies fly by. LOL.
