Trigger shot fail?

Someone please tell me I didn't screw this up. I just gave myself an Ovidrel shot, and like a dummy I had the vial pointed slightly down when I took the cap off and some dripped out. Then I had to stick myself twice because my DS insisted on sitting right next to me while I did it and I got distracted the first time. It should still be OK, right?

Not much--just a few drops and then I immediately put it upright again. I was just so nervous about it and then I had to worry about DS sitting still.

I bet you are just fine.  Pee on an hpt to double check.  My DH gave me our first at-home trigger this weekend, and he squirted a tiny bit out when he was getting the air bubbles out.  I think it is ok.

Oh, good point, I forgot I could take an HPT. It will be nice to see a second line (hopefully) after a year and a half of single lines, even if it isn't real. Time to chug some water!

I am sure it will be fine - it is always hard to get every drop no matter what.  Even with my stims.  But, taking the test is a good idea - that should set your mind at ease.  You'll need to hold your pee for like 3-4 hours though otherwise it may be too diluted.

I love seeing that fake second line!  I doubt you even need to hold your urine for any time, because typically on the first day or two after trigger that line is super dark!

Thanks for the advice, ladies. I just took an HPT and it came out negative, so that didn't really reassure me. However, it's only been a couple hours since I took the shot and I've been drinking a lot of water today because of the heat (although it had been at least a couple of hours since I last went to the bathroom), so I'll try again in the morning. Sigh.

Aw man, I feel like I gave you bad advice then!    If it had only been a few hours since the shot, perhaps it wasn't in your urine yet.  It has to get into your bloodstream first, then the urine.  Try again tomorrow, and keep me posted!

A few drops is definitely no big deal. Good luck this cycle!

A few drops is not a problem. The first time I did it, I didn't push the plunger in far enough and there were some drops left in the syringe. My eggs released with no problems, so guess it was enough!

I was going to go grab some more HPTs today since I have somehow lost all of the HPTs I had floating around the house, but now it turns out I have a UTI. I can't really hold it long enough for an HPT to be reliable, so I'm going to assume the shot worked. Now I'm just trying to get a hold of my RE office to see if maybe they can call something in for me (I took a home UTI test and it came out positive). Ugh. It makes me worry that this cycle is going to be a bust.
