Re: Coco Keys waterpark?

  • We go with my dad to the one in Rockford, IL sometimes. He has an office up there and goes frequently, so he'll take us to stay there and then a couple days to Chicago. It's not huge, but the kids have fun.

  • Been to the one in Fitchburg, MA. We went since we stayed in the Courtyard that it's part of. It was nice! Smaller than I imagined, but a lot of fun (DS was 3). He was hesitant about the loud noise, but loved the water everywhere and the "weather" was amazing the whole room is warm not hot and only slightly humid.

  • Looks SO much fun!

My sister has been to one similar in NY (twice) and her kids LOVE it.  But her kids are 10 and 7, so a bit older.

We are thinking of going Joey's bday weekend in November.  Joey is a bit gun shy when it comes to water slides but I think there are plenty of other things (wading pool, surf area, etc) that he can work his nerve up (after a while of water play) to use the slides.  If not, I know he will have a BLAST in the other pools, etc.

If you go, let me know how you liked it.  We are either going to do Coco Keys or the one in NY that my sister went to.

  • I want to go to the one in Danvers.  They have great package deals.  We are planning to go the end of August so I will let you know

  • Where is Danvers?  What kind of prices are you getting?  I was figuring it was going to be about $1k for Thurs-Sat (between the hotel/water park and food/arcade, etc).
  • It is north of Boston.  We were only going to do 1 night there so it is the room, 2 days in the water park, breakfast and $50 in arcade cards for 249 and that is a family of 4.

  • Oh, that's the one we would go to (just thought it was in Boston! LOL).  And that's the same pricing I was getting.  So $500 for two nights.  Add in money for meals (or grocery shopping), booze for me and Joe (a necessity!) and we are looking at at least $800.  Why is everything so damn expensive!?!?  Ah well....it's FUN!!!  And that's what I'm all about, right?!  ;)

  • They have an A&W and pizza hut so food wont be too expensive.  They also have a sit down place too.  If we want to have fun we must bring lots of cash lol.  This weekend we are going to Davis's Farmland in Sterling that looks fun

I went to the one in NY...beware the food is REALLY expensive and you wouldn't necessarily think it would be.  Get there early to get a locker and buy tickets ahead of time because they "sell out."  Very fun though :-)

  • Thanks for the heads up about the food

We love Davis' Farmland.  So much fun.  We've always gone in the fall, so we've never gone to the splash park area, but I hear it's great.  There's a ton of other stuff to do even without that.

  • The pizza hut in the one I went to wasn't much more expensive than the pizza hut expresses. Definitely not $10/meal.
