Do you use a washcloth or loofah for baths?

I have a loofah and use it sometimes but I also sometimes just use my hand and put the soap on. What do you do? I sometimes think now that she's getting older I shouldn't be touching certain areas with my hand and I should always use something, is this weird to think that?

  • DD washes herself - it is so cute!  I help rinse off the soap with a washcloth and I do her hair (teamwork) and face.

  • When you say loofah do you mean a mesh sponge thing or a real loofah? (the cream colored strawlike thingees) I can't really picture using a loofah on a toddler b/c it is so rough...

    We use washcloths.

lol- I was wondering the same thing. And ditto, word for word. We use washcloths but I'm thinking about getting her a "puff."

  • I don't use anything on either boy.  Sometimes S asks for a washcloth to use himself.  Early on, S had really sensitive skin so the pedi told us not to use anything but our hands and mild soap.  He said washcloths, etc. can irritate the skin and harbor bacteria so I guess I got used to not using anything and stuck with it out of habit.
