I just saw that one of the designers on the new season of Project Runway is named Gunnar Deatherage. As far as I can tell, that is his real name.

Next time someone asks me for a masculine name, I'll suggest this. Or point them here:

My cousin named her son Gunnar. He is adorable, so it has grown on me but not a name I would immediately like.

Interesting....I've never heard that last name before and although it might not be a bad name the combination of the 2 seems a little crazy. All I saw was Gun and Death when I first read it. Although Gunnar is not my style I do like the name.

My niece was seriously involved with a guy named Gunnar. I had never heard the name before that.

That's an unfortunate last name- if I had that last name, I'd give my child a gentle first name- NOT Gunnar!

Not gonna lie, Project Runway would not be the first place I would think to find Gunnar Deatherage. A punk rock star, a UFC champion, a professional bull rider, maybe even a mechanic, sure. But an up-and-coming hopeful fashion designer? Well, doesn't that beat all. Just goes to show you that a name can't hold you back if fashion is your passion.
