So, I have found that the one and only thing that eases my nausea even slightly is breath mints. Because I am pretty much sick all day long, I usually pop them throughout the day. However, yesterday I had a mini freak out when I realized, OMG, they have got to have artificial sweeteners in them....could this be bad??
I'm not able to find anything on the web about them and while one or two is probably ok....I'm eating more than one or two throughout the day.
Does anyone have any knowledge about whether I should be not eating these things...or if maybe there is a certain brand I should stick to or anything??
Thanks!!
Re: Question about Breath Mints
Every doctor has a different opinion but the FDA and the American pregnancy association both say that the majority of artificicial sweetners are fine during pregnancy. Aspartame and Acesulfame Potassium they say to keep in moderation. Sucralose (Splenda) and Rebaudioside A (Stevia) are fine. The only one that is suggested to stay away from is Saccharine (Sweet-n-low)
ETA: my guess is that even multiple mints throughout the day would be considered "in moderation". Mints are small.
