So DH and I have always thought we were set on a boy name, Jackson Bradley (Bradley is my dad's name and I would really like to use it as a mn). We have seriously loved it since we started talking about baby names about 6 yrs ago. Now we are second guessing it because of how popular it is. DH wants a "tough" boys name, he is an ex-football player and wrestler lol. Beau is out because we have a nephew named that, I kind of like Reid Joseph with the nn RJ but I don't think he is on board. I also like Ryan but can't use it because of our last name. I feel like I have been searching a bunch of different websites but can't find something we really love. Last night DH googled tough boy names and some on the list he liked were Max and Tucker. Any suggestions?

Re: Need boy name suggestions please!
I think the "tough guy" names are usually one syllable, so here are some ideas.
Gage (our baby's name)
Jett
Jude
Luke
Chase
Rhett
Chord
Grant
Hank (Henry)
Jace
Jake
Max
Pierce
Trey
I think if you are questioning the popularity you may be disappointed with the name in the future when they are 1 of many Jackson/Jack/Jaxon/Jacxyn, Jax, etc. and Jackson is not very "tough" in my opinion, but I do like the name. Jackson Bradley is nice.
Here are some names that I think are "tough" and it might only be because of personal associations as some of them are more from our generation, but I think still nice solid names.
Scott
Edmond
Nathan (Nate)
Nolan
Pierce (DS's name- it means rock)
Grant
As someone who is dead-set on naming her son THE most popular boy's name, I say go with Jackson Bradley. He won't just be any Jackson, he'll be YOUR Jackson. Who cares if it's a popular name, you said you loved it for years, don't second guess yourselves just because it has come into vogue.
I've always loved the name Aiden, and my father's name is Dennis, so we chose the -den spelling for our baby (don't know the gender yet, way too soon, obviously). It doesn't matter to us how popular it is, we like the name.
The time to second guess yourself is if you find a name you like better and it doesn't sound like you have...
