NPR: what is on your coffee table

DH and i have been together for over 15 years and have never had a coffee table until yesterday. Now we are both looking at it like it needs something, but what? We dont want to put any magazines or books on it.

so what is on your coffee table?

    we dont have one....its just a catch-all. My mom has a flora wreath with a large pilar candle in the middle of it on her table

    The bird's little playground, very fancy.  But before we had a bird either a fancy bowl with pinecones (winter) or a pretty red pleather photo album.

    Unfortunately, our coffee table IS 15 years old! And there's nothing on it since whatever is placed on it would get smashed, colored on, scratched, basically destroyed! We're waiting for the kids to get a little older before we can splurge on "adult" furniture, ha, ha!

    We don't have one in our family room (kids playroom). We replaced it with a storage ottoman.

    Our formal living room has one and its decorated for the seaons. Most of the time it has oversized glass vases with fake flowers, rocks, and candles. Similar to these...

    we use to have one before we had kids and it was always a "catch all" seriously everything would be tossed onto it like a holding rack.  We don't have one now and I don't miss it one bit.

    Im no help because ours is old, 2nd hand and ugly.  It is in our living room/family room and the kids use it to put toys on, play and color on and every once in a while eat on.  (movie night, special treat etc)  

    My mom has one in her formal LR and she puts seasonal decorations on it or when there isnt a holiday a bible and some other small trinkets.  Nothing to oohh or awww over.

    at the moment?  a toy laptop, 2 books, and a sippy cup.  :)  We don't keep anything decorative on there with little kids around!

    Ours has random toys and a runner. We also have a large bowl on it that we fill with the remote controls for the electronics and wii remotes/steering wheels.

    ETA: It also always has our current month's magazines on it and two stories (one each for DD and DS).
