Saving coming home outfits/sentimental outfits

I'm going through our baby clothes to prepare for #3 and sadly last baby.  What did you do to save your child's coming home outfit or any other sentimental outfit?  And on a side note, this is so sad to do.  :( Saying goodbye to such cute clothes and baby stage.

  • I've got a bag of special stuff and a bag of cool t-shirt he loved. The shirts will be turned into a quilt one day. :)

  • my mom bought me a chest, looks like a treasure chest. sounds cheesy, but she suggested I put the little keepsake stuff. I like to throw things out, so i rarely save anything. but the chest is perfect for the little things i wanted to keep, like the hat both boys wore in the hospital my mom knitted, their medical bands from birth etc.

i have been thinking about you guys a lot and hoping everything is going smoothly with your remodel and ethans recovery!

  • Actually, I've been taking photos of my favorite outfits. For now, I'm keeping everything, but before I pack away my favs in the garage, I take photos of them and plan to have pages in her baby book with photos of my fav things (her first dress, my fav 0-3 month PJs, first jacket that she wore all winter, etc) and photos of her in the outfits if I have any.

It also helps me practice my photography skills.

Me too! Let me know if you need anything! I am only 20 minutes away! I am not much of a saver either but my mom saved a lot of my baby clothes and I have loved dressing the girls in "vintage" things! So I will save all of that and other special things like hospital garb and fancy dresses. Anything stained or just regular old play clothes I am donating or putting in the rag bag. PS: I am sad Olive is my last baby too. I know it is the best choice for our family but it is hard to admit that time in my life is done. It really helps when I pass things along to other new moms who I know appreciate it (like her bassinet, newborn clothes, etc.)

  • I've got them in plastic tubs. I'd love to get a chest when we get a bigger place to store favorite outfits, blankets, toys etc.

  • I'm saving all the special outfits/blankets/etc. and I'll have them made into a quilt.  I don't know how to quilt so I'm going to nervously send them to someone and hope for the best!

  • Well, DH's mom just brought me DH's coming home gown that his aunt made him. I think she had it hanging up in a spare bedroom closet, along with all the little dresses his aunt made DH's sisters.

  • DS coming home outfit is hanging in his closet.  My other favorites are in a special box in the garage.  But updating the box is totally on my to do list for the summer.
