My DS is 11 mo old and can say mom and dad but thats it. Should he be saying more at this age? When do they really start talking a bunch? Is there anything I can do to help him speak more words? (These kids really should come with an owners manual )
My pediatrician said they usually have their first word around 1 year. My son doesn't say anything except mamamama bababa dadada but not even intentionally and lately he hasn't been saying that. He just says things that sound like words but are just gobbildy gook. Now that he is walking though, I am like say something. heheh
I think we are going to have a talker on our hands! DS says Mama, Dada, Nana, kitty, dog, frog, duck, & no no. Mostly I think he's just chattering, but he did point at my brother's little dog the other day and say kitty. Close enough
Re: Talking
Babycenter has a great checklist for milestones that I always look at.
They say besides mama and dada, a one year old should have one other word.
