What do you think of the name Georgia?  I've always thought this was a beautiful, southern sounding name, but I've never really considered it.  Now that I'm sort of back to the drawing board, I'm wondering if it could work.  But it is bad with my last name?  Georgia Pond?  Does it sound too much like a place?

Other options are Harper and Brynn right now.

i really like georgia and i think it's so much nicer than harper (i just don't like trendy names). georgia will age well for sure.

I'm loving Georgia right now. I heard it on a little girl the other day and didn't like it at first. Then it really grew on me and now I'm a bit obsessed with it. DH said no to it.

I actually like it. I was a fan of Harper and Brynn but they became WAY too popular in my book and I have a feeling they are going to continue to skyrocket. Your last name does make names a little more difficult but overall I like Georgia the best by far.

I like Georgia, it's my middle name! I didn't like it until I was older as I did get teased for it as a kid b/c basically every girl I knew had Marie or Lynn as a mn.

I don't think she'd get teased much for having it as a first name though, especially considering all the terrible names that are out there now.

I absolutely love it! It's way better and way classier than Harper or Brynn, will age better, and it's a little spunky while being elegant. Lovely name.

I love it!! We get compliments everywhere we go...and I can guarantee she will be the only Georgia in her class! It's elegant and not overly popular.

Like Harper, really like Brynn, and love Georgia. I also think "Georgia Pond" has a better flow than either of the other two, particularly "Brynn Pond," which sounds a bit... I don't know... terse.

My niece (one month younger than DS) is Georgia and while I didn't like it at first, I really do now.

Thanks for the input, ladies.  For some reason I have a heard time saying it, but I think it's very pretty.  Another one to suggest to DH.

I'm not a big fan of Harper.  I think Georgia is so much nicer!  And there haven't been any recent celebrity baby names so you don't have to worry about that.  Brynn is also nice but I don't think it as flows as well with your last name.

If our Harper gets a sister we most likely will go with Georgia. Possibly Georgia w/ a middle name. Georgia Pond is slightly campy but not bad enough to pass up a name you love. Edit: I meant double name not middle name.

I think Georgia is a beautiful name! I know plenty of girls named Brynn and I feel like Harper is really trendy. I know no one named Georgia, which is kind of surprising to me. I think is a wonderful pick (if you decide on it). It is in fact a place, and the last name pond makes it sound even more like a place but I actually like your last name with it. It sounds great to me

I like Georgia a lot better than Harper or Brynn. What about Aurora Pond (nn Aura or Rory) ? It has a nice flow too.

I adore Georgia. It's on our list! I don't think there is anything wrong with Georgia Pond. Much better than Harper or Brynn IMO.

I think Georgia is a very cute name that will age well.  Brynn seems to be more and more popular, and I'm guessing Harper will fly to the top of the charts with little Harper Beckham.  Georgia is my vote!

Normally I'd say too much like a place but I love the name Georgia! I think Georgia Pond is pretty and kinda poetic-sounding. I'd use it. I much prefer it over Brynn and I hate Harper. Doesn't even compare to Georgia.
