Last night I was eating a praline and one of my teeth (side tooth) chipped. You can't really see it when you look at me, unless you are like searching, but it, of course, is annoying me and seems like it is just screaming "Look at me! Look at me!" to me.

I went to the dentist this afternoon and they can't get me back in to fix it until August 1. The dentist is booked solid for the rest of the week and is going on vacation all of next week.

UGH!

I feel like WT.

DH keeps assuring me that it isn't as bad as I think it is but...well, you know how things like this are.

 

Side note, I normally hate the dentist but I really do love my dentist and after talking to him about it today, I think I'm going to have some cosmetic work done as well (because I'm vain like that). It is awesome that he can make me that comfortable because I've truly HATED all of my past dentists and dental experiences (except for the first dentist I went to in Auburn, he was super hot, but his practice didn't have any private rooms, all the chairs were just in one big "trendy" type room ).

 

But, for the next week and a half, I'll be talking a lot more on here because I'll be keeping my mouth closed IRL hiding my f'ed up tooth.

Awww, that sucks! I'm sure that it is more in your head but I know how the smallest things can make you think you look bad. Good luck with everything. Maybe there will be a cancellation and they can get you in before then!

Ugh!

That's too bad your Dentist couldn't fix your tooth today, but it's great that you were able to see him today though!!!!

I'm with u!!!  I'm actually missing half a front tooth.  I broke trying to drink 2 beers at the same time, on spring break m y soph yr in college.

i have had it bonded ever since, but it chips a lot....and i look soooo ghetto.  I'm also v vain too.

I am luke warm about my dentist, but he is willing to gas me, even for cleanings, so i keep going back.

Meantime- I hope your tooth isn't painful or sensitive to cold since it's so hot out you know you gotta have a few cold drinks or ice cream to survive!

I think you'd like the temps we had today- heat index was 105ish- so hot and humid I got sweaty going to my driveway.

I would love that! It was actually *cool* in Auburn today thanks the 4.6 inches of rain we got this morning, the high (actual temp) was only around 93 this afternoon. 

The heat will be back tomorrow though

He told me he could bond it or put a crown on..but he said the bond would likely continue to chip over time, mostly because of the specific tooth that it is, so I decided on a crown. I kinda want to get crowns on my teeth anyway...

They are just so pretty. And perfect.

I, too, am sure its all in your head!

But yay for getting some things done -- I am vain like that when it comes to teeth too -- I wore braces for 3 years - during the most horrid period of life- - 7th to 10th grade - and it is important to me to keep them up - after my next apt I am going to have stuff done as well.

Aug 1 isnt that far away....

I hope they can get you in sooner!

I had a molar crack and a chunk came off and it turned out that it was almost dead.  (WTF?)  I had to have a root canal and a crown.  It really wasn't painful, but I had to go to the dentist once a week for four weeks... 

I hope your tooth causes you less of an ordeal!!

Oh no!  Did it hurt??  I am sure others won't even notice it, but I would probably feel the same way .  I'm glad you like your dentist...that's important and often hard to do!
