How soon....

How soon did you tell your close family and friends that you were pregnant?  How soon did you tell everyone who would possibly listen??   I know we are going to wait to tell DH's family until after the first trimester because they live far away and we will see them when we are about 14 weeks pregnant when they come for a visit.  My family however lives about 10 minutes from us and we see them all the time.  I just don't know when or how to tell them!  Also, when did you start telling people at work?

We alread told our families and a few close friends that knew we were going through IVF and when our tests were. We're telling a few more close friends after the ultrasound and no one else until 13 weeks.

That's my other thing....my parents know everything that we have been going through because they are so close.  I really want to tell them but am still so nervous!!  Maybe I'll feel better about it this afternoon after I hear what my second beta number is

We waited to tell family until 13 weeks. And we told our clusters friends around 17 weeks. I told work at 16 weeks because I'm a professor and wanted to tell before the end of the semester. Otherwise I probably would have held off a bit longer.

We told parents, sibs and 2 friends right away.  A few people at my work also knew since I work at my Ob/Gyn and I was getting my beta's drawn at work.  We've recently started telling people that we see/talk to and lifted the ban for our parents to tell people also.

Our parents, siblings, and best friends knew we were cycling (and when beta day was) so we told them immediately after getting the call.

I was originally going to wait until 2nd tri, but I had to tell work @ 9 weeks b/c 4 of my peers are also pregnant and we were planning coverage schedules.  I didn't want to do all that work and then have folks re-do it a month later.

I announced to the world @ 15 or 16 weeks - can't remember exactly.

I think the answer is when it feels right to you!

We waited until after our 7 week u/s to tell my parents and siblings. I had to leave work for tests & bed rest so they knew before hand.  My DH's parents knew before because they helped us with the OOP expenses.  But I still haven't "officially" told our circle of friends and extended family.  We're waiting until after we're released from our RE, which happens to be the start of my 2nd trimester. Good Luck just do what feels right to you and your DH!

We told DH's family after we got betas back, but that's mostly because they knew when we were testing as SIL/BIL were chomping at the bit to spill the beans about their surprise BFP that DH had asked them to keep under wraps until we knew how this cycle went and if he'd need to break their news to me gently.  It was kind of a mess and not the ideal way I would have liked to handle it.

My family will probably find out this weekend since DH will be around and they knew we were doing treatment but didn't know specifically where we were at in this cycle.

I work in a very small office so they may find out after the first u/s especially if I start having bad m/s as they'll be suspicious.  I'll probably tell a couple close friends who know about our IF treatment at this time too.

Everyone else will find out after 1st tri which is how I originally when I wanted to clue everyone in but IF changed that a bit.

We told our parents 5 days after we found out since it was Mother's Day, told siblings (becuase they knew of our m/c and IF journey) at 6 weeks, and relatives at 8 weeks since I was so sick and going in for IV fluids.

I told my dad and siongs after my second beta because it was his bday and also thanksgiving. I also told a couple friends after my 7 wk u/s. Everyone else I waited to tell until after the first tri. I didn't post anything on FB till about 24 wks. I think it just depends on your situation.

Thanks for asking this! I already told my mom and dad...b/c they knew about our journey but that's it. I still tell them I am so nervous and I probably should have waited until my 2nd beta but I didn't. I am waiting to tell my close friends after our first 6-7 week u/s.

We told our parents right away - they knew everything we were going through and timing etc.

We told friends after the NT scan at 12 weeks.

We told close friends that knew about treatments after the 1st u/s at 8 wks, told parents in person when they came to visit, which happened to be around 9 weeks.  Had a 2nd u/s at 10 1/2 wks and made it FB official, told coworkers, etc.

Our family is very very close and when we found on on Dec 20th we made the choice to tell them on xmas. We knew that if anything happened we would want their support.

We told both sets of parents right away because they knew about our cycles. We waited until 6-7wks to tell our siblings (after hearing the first hb). I told my boss around 8wks because she also knew about the cycles and I could tell it was killing her not to know! I just posted on FB Monday night after we got a good report at the NT Scan. It feels so great to have it out in the open! It feels so much more real now!

we told CLOSE family -- like my parents and the ILs but extended family wont find out until im 15 weeks when I go home.. I hate not being able to shout it out on facebook, but I really dont want to just tell my gparents on the phone!
