Hi all.. I'm brand new in this whole IVF thing. I've been TTC for more than 2 years, but only considered IVF in the last 10 months.
Had my lap done and had endo (removed). Now i'm waiting for my first injection for IVF (still don't know what I'm getting tho). I know the big picture of the whole process but very unfamiliar with all the terms you all use here. I'll get there, just have to keep reading.
Anyway, have any of you travelled a few days after embryo transfer? I have a travel plan that's going to take place approximately day 7-10 after embry transfer. Do you think this is OK or should i just cancel it (just in case)?
TIA.
Re: Travelling after Embryo Transfer?
There shouldn't be any physical reason for you to cancel your plans.
That said, everyone has a comfort level of what they are comfortable doing during the two week wait. I wouldn't mind road tripping but I wouldn't go hiking, for example- more because hiking is not a normal part of my life. Someone who is more active than I am might find a hike refreshing. I, on the other hand, would be constantly worrying and sweating, and just uncomfortable. I'd be happy for the excuse to NOT go hiking. Similarly- I'd probably skip an airplane flight because they stress me out, not because flying in an airplane is bad- But I'd enjoy going out on my grandpa's boat on the lake and driving it way too fast
I've taken the view that if something will leave me worried that I might have compromised an early pregnancy- I might as well avoid it. I'm not skipping going to my niece's birthday party or taking my nephews to the park (although I refrain from lifting toddlers- they're heavier than my doc's lifting restrictions) but I don't go skydiving or rollercoaster riding either.

?SAIF/PAIF/PgAL/PAL always welcome?
You will either by pregnant by then or not. Go. I rode in a car 6 hours the day of transfer and went to a wedding, and of all my cycles, that one worked out. My doctor is of the belief that moderate activity that results in healthy circulation is a better choice than bedrest for implantation.

Lots of people travel by plane to get to an IVF clinic. I'm flying from the midwest to California to cycle, then I'll be flying home just a couple days later.
I realize this and I try to be logical about it...I mean, look how many people get pregnant on vacation, honeymoons, business trips, etc. But I still find myself Googling about it once in a while to calm my worries.
Well I am doing my IVF in Colorado (and I live in Michigan) so I will be flying home two days post ET. I assume it's ok!
DX: High FSH/DOR
It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!
