Board Certified, does it matter?

Is your allergist Board Certified? I'm not 100% what this even means. The only allergist in our area that is certified (according to our insurance) is the one we have seen and didn't like what so ever. We are already traveling 25 minutes to see this one in particular. There are other allergists closer to us, they are just not certified. Does it matter?

The only pediatric allergist available to us is in ATL. I'm not sure we are ready to travel 2 hours to see him/her. Do you think it would be worth it?

DD's allergist isn't a ped allergist but she sees a ton of kids in her practice. She is so wonderful with DD and I just love her to death. I hope you find someone that you click with as well. Oh, and ETA she is certified.

Thanks! that gives me an idea to call to see if they even see toddlers.
