Need opinion for unusual boys name..

My DH just met a little boy with the name Cash. He fell in love with it. The middle name would be James. Cash James. Last name starts with a T and it's 3 syllables. I think that sounds catchy, but I am not sure if the name Cash is too unusual.. what do you think?

I don't think it is that unusual anymore, I prefer Cassius NN Cash though.

It's actually not all that unusual ? it's been hovering around #250 on the charts for the last several years (about 1,300 Cashes and 400 Kashes were born last year).

I much prefer it as a nn.

I know an adorable little boy in our mommy class named Cash.  While the baby is adorable, I can't help but feel his name reminds me of someone who belongs at a trashy hotel in Vegas.  That being said, go crazy if it will make you happy.  You (and him) will be the ones to hear it all the time.

Cash James doesn't flow right. Either the first name or middle name need to be longer. I like PPs suggestion of Cassius James.

ETA I believe Cassius is pronounced CASH-us not Cass-e-us, right?

Cash James seems choppy, cut-off, too abrupt.  I like Cash and I like James, just not together.  Cash plus a  2 syllable MN would flow better IMO.

I like the name Cash. I know a little boy named Cache (Its also a town/river in Texas) I think its a great name, the middle name is rarely mentioned anyway so I dont know what the big deal is for all the bad comments. If you prefer the name, then so be it! I happen to like it though!

Cassius is our #1 boy's name

It's pronounced Cash-us and flows a lot better with James. It's also much more complete sounding to me than "Cash" (which I LOVE, but only as a nn)

I love it.  It is not unusual at all anymore.  I know 2 babies named Cash, and my bf has it as her #1 future boys name.  Her husband is a HUGE Johnny Cash fan.

I agree that if you go with just Cash you need more syllables in the mn.  Cash James sounds like Cash Change when I say it out loud.  If you go with Cassius nn Cash I still don't like it paired with James because of the double -s endings.

If you had asked me this 5 years ago, I would have just said NMS. But now that I know a few people who have used this name, and the 'type' of people they are, it's definitely a "Look at how cool we are, we named our kid Cash!" type of a name.

 Totally agree with both of you!! 

Plus, Slash named his son Cash.  Unless you're a big G&R fan, I'd use it as a NN or nothing.

sorry I just think its sounds pretentious...  Why would you name a kid after $? just not my style..  Love James          If you used it as a mn I would like it better.
