"allergy ring" -- thoughts??

As you all know, DS is on Alimentum because his stomach just can't handle regular formulas. Whether it is an allergy or not has yet to be determined (he's going to a GI next month). But I was reading some info from Dr. Sears and he mentions an "allergy ring" around a child's anus can be a sign of a food allergy. DS's anus is always red but I thought that was standard? It's not bleeding or anything. Did any of your LOs have an "allergy ring" and if they did, was it easy to know that was an allergy sign/symptom? I'm just not sure...

Bwahaha........the title of your post made me think of someone's LO wearing an allergy ring instead of the normal allergy bracelet.

me too..  I was already thinking "no one will look at a ring for allergies"

anyways.. never heard of that either. sorry. But no ring on my son down there.. at least i didn't notice.  But there are so many symptoms out there so i wouldn't be surprised if that is one of them.

  • My oldest was on alimentum for allergies she consistently had a red anus, to the point that the GI checked for anal strep (yes, its possible) but it was just the allergies.
