full bladder and contractions

I feel like I get more contractions if my bladder is full.  Sometimes I get them when my baby moves a lot which has been happening a lot lately.  I was wondering if anyone else experiencing the same.

  • Sometimes my belly is tighter than other times so I am not sure 100% if those are BH or not. Are you actually feeling the contractions??

Until I went to L&D, I did not know what contractions really felt like.  For me my entire belly get tighter for few seconds and I notice decrease in my breathing (no wonder they tell you breath during labor).  The pain of my contraction starts in my belly and ends in my grion.  I hear that later on these contractions last longer, are closer together, and the pain starts from belly and goes down to the bum.

  • I get the same thing. I get them sometimes if I am changing positions ir walking too. My dr said it is totally normal. I try to pee a lot so I avoid the full bladder, just in case I sneeze or cough :)

  • Full bladders can definitely cause contractions that's why it's important to pee as soon as you feel like you have to go.

I definitely have been noticing something like this...if I was until i realllllllly have to go, I have this uncomfortable cramp/cramping that is literally hard to breath though. I've been trying to go before it gets to that point, but planned to talk with my OB about it at my next appt.

  • Sorry, I didn't respond earlier, but this totally happens to me. I read somewhere that when your bladder is full, your uterus can get irritated and start contracting. I try to just go whenever I have to, but that does seem to be about all the time!

  • I get BH when my bladder gets too full and I don't do anything about it.  It definitely makes a difference.
