Hand foot and mouth

I'm pretty sure B has it.  :(  Has anyone else's lo had it?  There's no treatment since its a virus so I'm looking for ways to make him as comfortable as possible,

Re: Hand foot and mouth

  • We have had here as well. Unfortunately, there is just about nothing you can do for it besides what PP mentioned. Once it hit his diaper area pretty hard we made sure to let him air out a lot more. Not sure if it helped, but it was worth a try! I also avoided shoes and such that would make him uncomfortable. Sorry he got this nasty virus :(

  • DS had it a few months ago.  We alternated Tylenol and Motrin, and he ate yogurt.  Lots and lots of yogurt!  Good luck!

  • It should only last 5-7days & for DS days 2&3 were by far the worst with sleep & not wanting to eat/drink much. No salty or spicey foods. Anything soft, cool or cold to eat worked well (I.e. Bananas;yogurt;applesauce;& for some reason he actually didn't mind eating cheerios) Keep him hydrated as much as possible. By day4 DS was back to normal eating everything in sightt. GL
