I am pretty new to this site but I have already found so much useful info from you gals. It's hard to find reliable support for FA! A little intro, my DS is 18 mos, Allergic to dairy, eggs, gluten, oats & tree nuts. We are seeing his allergist Thursday because he keeps breaking out in hives & having GI symptoms despite us avoiding all Of his known allergens like the plague! It is so frustrating! Anyways, on to my question....we are going to Lake Tahoe in early August & I am trying to figure out what we need to take with us vs what we can get there. We are driving there, so we will take a big cooler with us with some food. We've contacted the hotels to see if they can provide a small fridge in our room to keep some stuff. This is the first time we've traveled with him, so it stresses me out! I'm just trying to plan ahead as much as possible so that I am not left scrambling when we get there & only able to feed DS applesauce & chicken! Any advice you gals could offer would be great! TIA!

Re: Traveling with FA - advice needed!
18 months old is a little hard to travel with. That's when we flew to florida and i made all of his food in the hotel room.. minus some snacks.
We actually got a portable stove (hot plate?) and i made his pasta like that. Some hotels have this (i forgot the one i purchased and thankfully the hotel had one, even though they said no when i called). A fridge is a must. And a microwave (which most hotels have)
I would bring a lot of snacks. gluten free cereals? Gluten free pasta?
I actually purchased a used ipad so that he can watch cartoons at restaurants (the few times we did go out) so that he doesn't have any interest in our food. Which worked on so many levels.
We pretty much ordered him avocados or guacamole and fresh fruit or sliced cucumbers. Those were the only things we ordered.
it's definitely not easy and a lot of planning goes into a trip
check this site out and see if you can find some safe snacks
GOOD LUCK!
