DW normally runs right at 120/80. As of yesterday, she's out of work for the rest of the pregnancy (and has been complication free, aside from anemia, to this point). She's getting transfusions of iron this week for the anemia, and yesterday her BP was 140/80. This morning it was 155/70. Her weekly appt is at 1, so obviously her BP will be taken again. I'm going to leave work early so I can be there too to hear what the doc says.
But, just curious, how high did your BP get before it moved beyond being watched to being an issue? I've had this gut feeling she would deliver around 34/35 weeks even though her cervix, NST, etc has kept the MFM saying "37w without a problem", so I am of course freaking out a little in my head right now even though I know we have the best care available.
Re: if you had high BP/pre-e
My BP was low for most of my pregnancy. When I was on bedrest, it was like 90/60 sometimes with a pulse in the 40s. I was actually worried about it getting too low. I got off bedrest at 35w. Right before 36w, it started to go up around 120/100. At my appointment at 36w4d, it was 140/90, so they sent me to L&D for monitoring. When we got there, it was around 150/90 and climbing. I also was starting to spill proteins. They decided to just go ahead and do the c/s that day rather than risk it going any higher since I was so close to full term, and they felt the babies would do fine on the outside, whereas leaving them inside was risking my health.
If I recall correctly, they look at the bottom number more than the top one. My normal BP was 130/70 normally, and when it was 146/84, I was admitted. (I was also spilling some protein.) It was the 84 that concerned them more than the 146, apparently.
It lowered a bit in the hospital, but the proteins kept increasing, so we delivered.

Thanks for the info ladies! Hopefully we have a couple more weeks of inside babies!
I was sent to the hospital for monitoring at my 31 week appointment my BP was 160/100. I was released and sent home on bedrest. oh and to complete a 24 hr urine catch. I went to my MFM appointment two days later and they put me on labetalol- my urine catch showed no proteins. So I was on bedrest- my BP continued to rise little by little. I did another urine catch at 34 weeks- it showed higher levels of protein. At 34 wk 3 days, I started having symptoms- headache and visual problems- and my BP was 178/110. So I called my OB- he sent me to L&D. Our boys were born that night. They spent 17 days in the NICU- only needing to learn to eat.
Edit to add:
I still had high BP after they were born and was on three meds for 3 weeks after, then only 1 med until 3 months AFTER my boys were born.
