I love old-fashioned names. The more underused, the better. And while I think a lot of people on this board would agree with me, most of my friends and family think I'm crazy. Their suggestions usually -adelyn and -aden variations or anything in the top 10. Ughh...
Just kidding. I don't really care if people don't like my names, they're all old lady names so not really unpopular here. I like Italian boy names which seem to do OK too.
Francesca Pearl is here! Josephine Hope is almost 3!
I love Lola and might use it on this baby...i'll have to get used to seeing this reaction:
I used to be a teacher & loved learning my students' middle names. It seemed like that was the name the kid should have--often much more unique and meaningful than the usual lily, madison, aidan, jacob, etc.
Me: 35 | Him: 35 G born 10/25/12 | H born 3/25/14 TTC#3 since 7/2015 Early loss 12/2015 most likely due to low progesterone Began medicated cycles (Femara/Ovidrel/Endometrin) with TI 1/2016 BFP 3/22, EDD 12/4/16 ~ It's a GIRL!
Evangeline. When I told people we were considering this for DD1, they could barely pronounce it, let alone actually like it.
I LOVE Evangeline!
S/P L salpingo-oophorectomy w/ septic torsion 1999, dx moderate to severe Crohn's dz 2004. DH S/P hypospadic sx w/ multiple subsequent scar tissue removals, S/P herniorrhaphy. Married on 10/7/2006! TTC since May 2011; abnormal SA #1, better SA #2, normal HSG 7/2012, dx MFI/ low egg count, IUI!
We probably would've named DD Seraphina had it not gotten a terrible reaction from those we shared it with (which discouraged DH). I'm still hoping to use it on a future DD, although our daughters would have the same names as Jennifer Garner's...
Married to my best friend 6/5/10

I love it, FI hates it. Pronounced AHMA-LEENA. There is an adorable little chinese girl at the school where I work with this name. I've heard Emmeline but never with the extra -a on the end. I think its adorable
I don't really care that everyone seems to hate Monet and Dana, I'm seriously considering them for baby #2. The rest are guilty pleasures, or possible middle name material.

Solid "old Hispanic man" names like Santiago, Fernando, Ernesto, Orlando...

They were my top 2 girls names, and everyone else hated them. My mom even said they sounded like 'baby elephant names'.....! I adore them though.
Guess its a good thing we found out we are having a boy!
Ariadne, Kathleen, Irene, Edwin
All of these names were vetoed by my family (esp my mother). That's why #2's name won't be announced until he/she arrives:

Ah...I like this thread. Good one Mags.
I love Waverly, Lavender, Marigold and Mabel for girls. They're pretty universally despised, both IRL and on the boards....
For boys I love Arthur and Walter, but I can't even convince my husband that they work on little boys (and we usually have pretty similar taste!).
