We have used them since DS was just a few weeks old. The pedi said they could be used at each feeding, up to 12 times a day since they aren't absorbed into his system. She actually recommended them to us. We really like them, but we typically buy the generic brand. Mylicon is pretty expensive and the store brand works just as well. It helps DS a lot and it was pretty easy to tell the difference.
We could tell DS was gassy because he could grunt, cry, and kick while trying to pass gas and couldn't get it out. We had to bicycle his legs a lot or massage his tummy just to help him get it out. It would even wake him up in the middle of the night because it was hurting him. Once we started using the drops, he was able to pass the gas on his own fairly easy. He stopped grunting and crying all the time too. If you choose to use them, make sure to give them to your LO before each feeding. That helps it to work the best. HTH!
Our pedi recommended them. We use the Walmart brand, and it works great. We could tell she had gas, because she would bring her knees up to her stomach and cry out. Also, her stomach would get really hard.

Colleen usually doesnt cry too much, but this I could tell she was in pain. I use the BRU brand and they work great. Also mylicon is what they gave ME in the hospital to deal with gas pains from the c-section and it helped me so much as well

Thanks everyone! I really hope what we are dealing with is gas. We have tried everything (reflux, tylenol for teething) and nothing seems to help. She is just so cranky! I swear I feel like she is colicky, but she would have outgrown it by now, since she is 4 months and 1 week.
