waiting for solids.....

Anyone else waiting to start solids? We went for M's 4 month apt and his pedi wants us to wait. She said physically he is ready so if I insist then thats fine, but she would prefer that I wait. Which I do understand. I've read the research about how it could help the digestive system and food allergies if you wait. This is important to me because partially because I have Crohns so I would like to give his system the best chance possible. But a part of me is disapointed because it would be fun to start feeding him. I feel like everyone else is having the fun and not me...

We are waiting as long as possible.  DS is FF and he seems perfectly happy having his bottles.  He sits with us at dinner and doesn't really pay that much attention to us eating and has not grabbed for our food yet.  I am happy to wait till he's 6 months old.

LO is EBM feed and she is fully content with just bottles. We won't start solids until she seems interested or 6 months which ever comes first.

We're waiting.  He is thriving w/ breastmilk, and he has no other nutritional needs until 6 months (other than vitamin D, which I give him).  I'm not in any tearing hurry to having him grow up any faster than he already is.

My pedi didn't mention it and I didn't bring it up. I'd like to wait until 6 months. I agree though I see and hear about the other moms having fun with messy baby faces and I'm not.

I'm waiting until 6 months. DD is thriving and I have also read the research. She is interested in our food, but she is interested in EVERYTHING.

We started solids already, but my plan was to wait until she was 6 months. I still wish she didn't really want food. But I really, really think she was ready for it and needed a little extra. I will say though that after a couple of weeks of solids, it's not so fun anymore, BF'ing is way easier. lol

We are waiting as well. DD seems happy with the bottle and breast, so we don't see a need to try solids early. Our doctor also told us to wait until 6 months.

We're waiting until 6 months. I'm in absolutely no rush.

Nope, my girls are on it since their 4th month. They weren't sleeping at all at night anymore and my doctor said to start them on solids for 3 days at a time of each food to rule out allergies.

I've been pondering the same question. At first my DS pediatrician said she wanted us to wait until 6 months, but now she's saying as soon as possible. In my heart I've always wanted to wait till 6 months. Still not sure what I'm going to do. Trying to way pros and cons.
