EBF/EP Do you experiencing tingling constantly?

So I am EP for the second time.  I pumped for 7 months with my DS.  I remember having some tingling in my breast last time but I don't remember feeling  it like pretty much all the time.  I know this is partly let down but it is kinda annoying.  I pump every 3 hours sometimes 4 for like 15 minutes, when the milk stops.  I just wondered how many other moms have this.  Before I quit nursing, I would have a sharp stabbling pain in the side of my left breast until she finished.  Weird, I know.  After my milk came in with DS, I would itch so bad when I nursed him, which was one of the reasons I quit the first time.   I just wondered if anyone had it, did it get better over time.  I will be 4 weeks out from my CS this Wednesday.  Just curious what other moms were dealing with.

If the tingling is in your nipple it could be thrush.  I had it and one of my symptoms (which I didn't realize until it went away after treatment) was tingling- it sort of felt like let down but it was constant and a bit painful.

    Ditto!  Sounds exactly like thrush.

  • Not in the nipple but all over with both breast.  Will keep the thrush thing in mind.  I know the LC told me some people have a stronger response to let down.  What are other symptoms of thrush?

Your LO may have chronic diaper rash and/or white spots in their mouths.  Extremely painful moments during BFing (stabbing pains through the breast and/or nipple pain).  Tingling/pain in the breasts and nipples 24 hours a day that does not go away once you stop feeding.

  • I am an EP but got out the BF book and it described my symptoms exactly.  Called the OB this morning.  Thanks ladies!!  I also read LO may just have the diaper rash which she does!!
