HCG level! Help!

According to my lmp I should be 8weeks 7days. Well about a week and a half ago I went in for an ultrasound thinking I was about 7 weeks. The ultrasound tech was asking me questions about my cycle. She told me I was probably not as far along as I thought and I was only about 5 weeks. I had the ultrasound done on July 8. On Monday, July 11 was my first appt at dr. office. I met with the nurse and had bloodwork done. The nurse called me back on Thursday because the doctor wanted some more bloodwork done. My hcg level from monday was 6,140. Today the doctor called me back saying my hcg level was 7thousand and something. I was told this was not entirely abnormal. Can anyone help me please? The only symptoms I have had are sore breasts, fatigue, and pee alot. This week I have been having occasional headaches, and have not been very hungry.

    Well, generally speaking, your hcg level should double every 48-72 hours.  Since your level did not increase that much, and because the baby was measuring so far behind, I'd probably ask for another draw and another ultrasound, to check fetal growth.

    Once your HCG level is over 6000 it can take more then 4 days to double, not the 48-72 hours that they expect earlier on.
