Insurance is going to make me crazy!!!

Yes, I know....I should be thankful to have any insurance that covers IVF.  Trust me, I feel for all of you that aren't so lucky.  Last Tuesday my Dr. office called in scripts to a small local specialty pharmacy.  We had meds from last cycle to get started, so I picked up meds at pharmacy on Thursday.  I was told that they were waiting for prior-authorization for medical necessity on 3 things, Vivelle patches-Ovidrel and Crinone.  I called on Friday and they had not yet received it.  Today I called the pharmacy and they told me that I had a $10000 cap on coverage through them and that Humana required that I go through RightSource Specialty Pharmacy.  I called them, and they wouldn't even call the other pharmacy to get the prescriptions transferred over.  Woman on the line understood NOTHING about these medications and what they were for.  She also told me that it would take 10-14 days to deliver them to my home.  I was like ----HELLO-it will all be over by then.  Today is Day 7 of stims-I NEED these meds this week.  Well, I had had enough and decided to call Freedom Fertility as I know they are capable of getting this ball rolling quickly.  Unfortunately, noone is around at my Dr. office this afternoon-as it's after 4pm here.  Very frustrated.

Yup, I hear you!  I need to get on my nurse to call my meds into Village Pharmacy so I get them in time to start next week.  Yes, we are lucky to have insurance but it is still frustrating to deal with people. 14 days to get meds? I don't think so!!  No one gets the urgency...

I know how you feel.  I am trying to get approval to go to an RE.  I have shed many tears over the insurance company and the way that they treat people.
