Could this help?

So after making it through the 4 month wakeful we are now entering a 6 month fussy/wakeful period.  For the past 10 days Ace has woken up every 90 min.-2 hours at night.  I have been working on the NCSS but haven't made any progress yet.  We also transitioned him from his car seat to his crib because he wasn't sleeping well in there anymore.  I am DESPERATE for some sleep.  We have never been co sleepers but do occasional co-nap. When we do this he sleeps great (2 hour nap vs. 40 min nap).  I would like to eventually get him to sleep comfortably in his crib but i'm not in a major rush.  I'd just like him to sleep longer stretches if possible but still feel comfortable and secure.

I am thinking about putting his crib mattress in the floor next to a twin mattress (he has a twin bed in his room too).  Then i can sleep in the twin mattress and sooth/nurse easier when he wakes.  Then i can eventually move the 2 mattresses farther apart until he is eventually in the crib and i'm just in the same room.  Then SOMEDAY i can go back to sleeping in my own bed and he'll be in his own bed.  Do you think this will work?  Are there any safety considerations i'm not thinking of?  Any advice?

Re: Could this help?

  • have you tried inclining his crib mattress?  he may reflux a little bit and now that he's laying flat instead of inclined like the car seat it may be bothering him.

When DS spits up his prevacid thats how he sleeps, terrible.  Constantly up, he wakes up just enough to need a paci or a pat.  It's like he can't settle.

To my boys:  I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
