Cloth Diapering

Cloth Diapers and the Laundromat

We are moving to a house that does not have washer/dryer hook-ups and will need to use a laundromat for all our laundry (it is an older house that has been renovated into 2 townhome apartments). Right now we have been using the biodegradable refills, but I would really like to switch to all cotton so we're not having to constantly buy more.

My question is: how many should I get so I'm not having to make multiple trips a week to clean diapers. And is there anything I can do inbetween laundry trips, like soaking them in some kind of solution so they don't smell/stain? TIA!

Re: Cloth Diapers and the Laundromat

  • I hope someone answers b/c we will be in the same situation next week when our diaper service runs out!

My plan right now is to see how many diapers she goes through a day on Thursday and Friday, then multiply by 7, and divide by the number of trips we can make to the laundromat (prob 2). I got that economy package of Osocozy prefolds and bummi covers on amazon-- I think that's 36 prefolds... hoping it's close to enough!
