What gestational age did your LO go home from NICU?

Just curious

Our LO is doing well, taking all feeds by bottle now which is great and was the last thing we were waiting on. The only issue now is he had blood in his stools (TMI?) and a bad diaper rash so they have him on soy formula now in case he has a dairy allergy so we will have to see how he does on that.

We are a pretty good example of variation between preemies, even at comparable weights and being born at the same GA. Hunter came home first at 37 weeks and Liam came home at 41. Most babies come home around their due date but just as full term babies can range from 37-43 weeks preemies tend to fall into a similar range. There are some babies that come home before or after that as well.

Baby B came home at 37w1d at 4.9ish (she had surgery at 4 days old which put her on a ventilator for 5 days and NPO for 7. she also struggled with reflux which took a couple weeks to figure out)

DS was born at 32w 6d & was discharged at 34w 3d. He apparently was very determined to come home because he ripped out his own cannula & ng tube. When he ripped them out they decided to see how he would do & they never needed to put either back in. I was there for the ng tube & it was painful to watch him rip that thing out. We were not at all prepared for him to come home on the day he was discharged so we actually had to leave him there for a few hours while we ran out & got the last few things we needed to bring him home & install the car seat base.

Sam was 26w3d (2 lbs 4 oz) and came home the day before his due date, 94 days later (7lbs 14oz)! Bottle feeding is what kept us in the NICU, since we knew he was coming home on O2. He made it home just when he was supposed to, I guess.

Thanks so much everyone! DS was born at 33w5d and will be 36w on Thursday so hopefully it won't be too much longer, though I know many of you had your LO's in the NICU much longer than that. He is bottle feeding every feeding right now on the soy formula and seems to be doing well on that.
