looking for a new OB in Dorchester, Quincy, Braintree area...

Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations for a new OB who has an office in any of these areas (or close by--we live in Quincy and I work in the south end) who delivers at one of the downtown hospitals, preferably the Brigham, although I would consider another hosp. if you have had a good experience delivering there.

    I go to Crown Colony in Quincy and so far have been really happy with them.  Dr Metzger got wonderful reviews on rate my md.  As far as I know they don't deliver in Boston though-  I'll be delivering at South Shore hospital-  which I've read many good things about as well...

    I also go to Crown Colony and infact am on my way in this morning for my 1st pedi. appt. I have Dr. Angus. Interestingly I delivered at Brigham's last week and then had to stay a night with my baby at SSH due to weight drop,etc. IMO, I thought the SSH was so much better as far as breastfeeding help. Might be something to consider. Brigham's has a wonderful reputation and my delivery went well but I did not feel as supported as I did on my one night stay at SSH.

    The Harvard Vanguard OBGYN office in Quincy is AWESOME-I saw Mary Kay Gosney (midwife) and Dr. Deborah Platek (although they are for high risk pregnancies-they do have tons of other midwives and OBs that are all pretty fantastic-the office staff is wonderful as well!)-they deliver at the Brigham.

    They also have a pedi right downstairs-we love our pediatrician (Dimitra Panomitros).  You can call them at 617-774-0940.

    I second Harvard Vanguard in Quincy. I also LOVED my midwifr - Joan. I didn't see my dr. much but she was okay. Dr. Yadav.

    They deliver at Brigham. I had a great experience there.

    there is a ped. office in that building. Another perk is free parking, you can run errands in the area, 90% of your tests (all bloodwork) can be done in the building, they offer prenatal yoga and a few other classes for cheap.
