Toddlers: 24 Months+

Winnie the Pooh movie with a 2 year old?

I was thinking of taking my son to the children's matinee in a couple of weeks. I don't really expect him to or care if he sits through the whole thing. I just thought it would be fun since it's only an hour long and we don't really watch too much TV so it might be a special treat for him. What do you think though? Would you take a 2 year old?

My girl`s have been seeing movies at the theater since 18 months.  Summer, was really bad in the lobby but we went during nap time, and gave her her blankie and she fell right asleep, even though she was excited about the movie.  Leah was really good.  Our theater lets anyone under the age of 36 months in for free.

  • DS is two and we saw it- he did fine. It is short- only like an hour- just get there at the last minute so he isn't waiting for it to start.  The whole theatre was filled with 2 year olds.
  • DH took DS on Saturday since he really wanted to take DS to his first movie sometime this summer. It was a good choice at this age. DS didn't make it through the whole thing, but lasted about 45 minutes, which was good. It is a lot of money for a two year old, but if you are going more for the experience and are ok with them not making it through the whole thing, it definitely works.

  • We saw it a couple days ago and DD loved it.  Honestly, like PP said, it was all toddlers and actual run time was an hour or even slightly less.  DD never got cranky or lost interest...and it was a pretty cute movie for the parents too.
  • I just took DS this morning he did great. The movie is about an hour and perfect amount a time. We went to see Cars2 a few weeks ago and DS didnt make it. We didn't see the last 30-40 minutes but it is almost a 2hour movie. BTW we got our Monet back from Cars since we didn't see the end. Just ask.

  • I guess this is an UO opinion, but I wouldn't. I have a 2 year old but I hate it when parents bring really little ones to movies when they are disruptive. Im not saying all LOs are disruptive, but some parents don't know when to remove their child from the theater out of respect for other patrons. Pet peeve of mine.

DD isn't ready for a movie yet. DH and I were thinking about taking her to a drive-in though. I think that wouldn't disturb others and be fun actually. But they are not in every area.

  • I haven't taken my boys yet, but I do plan to.  I can't imagine them sitting through the entire movie, but it's worth a shot!
