cloth diaper cake with GMD - how to ?

How do you think you would make a cloth diaper cake with yellow & orange edge GMDs (unprepped, so still pretty big)?  I also have one random purple edge from goodmama.  I was originally going to make rolls/roses with the edges showing.  Yellow would be on bottom, orange for the top tier, then *maybe the purple in a rose somehow.  Is that tacky?

Another idea for the top - I'm making the cloth wipes into lollipops, and those could be coming out of the top/center. 

I have some accessories I can use, but I will already be giving her a wrapped present as well if it doesn't work out to use those.   

I already googled CD cakes, but most of them don't show any serged edges.

My mom made me one from GMDs. She tri- folded them and then rolled them and tied them with natural twine. I think lollipops out of wipes on the top would be cute!

I used a dozen yellow edge (7, 4, and 1). Fold yellow edge to yellow edge and then roll the other way. Keep adding folded prefolds to make a big roll (like toilet paper, I guess). Secure with snappi. The resulting cake is small, but I think it's cute. I put some tulle and ribbon around it to fancy it up, and stuck a thirsties cover in the top. If you want pics of the result, let me know. I'm on my phone right now, so I'd have to go digging for it.

This is the name I meant to use, I'm the same poster from above. Aaand I was wrong about how I did it. I trifolded. Unprepped is definitely best for this! Let's see how pic posting goes from my phone :-D [crossing fingers]

I made a diaper cake using PF's. I just trifolded them and then rolled them up. I then used rubber bands to secure them and then took the little rolls to make the cake tiers. With all the added ribbon and bows on the outside it was super cute! I have a picture of it on my phone.

My FIL made me one that was amazing for my shower!

He used wrath forms from a craft store to wrap the PFs around & he secured them with straight pins.  He got them in a few different sizes to be each layer.  The bottom was some sort of heavy-duty cardboard circle.  He filled the hollow middle with CD accesssories like snappies, wipes, butt spray, etc.  It was so great!
