So LO just got over his first cold. Lots of snot, coughing and general crabbiness. He is much better now, but I wondered what 'tips' others have for getting through this. It was a semi-miserable week (my mom can't watch LO when he's sick since she has a compromised immune system, so we had to shuffle childcare and I couldn't take days off work since everyone else is on vacation right now and DH just started a new job so can't take days off yet) but we got through it using the bulb syringe (which he HATES), and a humidifier for the bedroom. Also gave a little baby tylenol for the fever when it made him really crabby. I just got a nosefrida from amazon... LOVE LOVE LOVE it.. it gets so much snot out, and LO doesn't get nearly as crabby about it as he did with the bulb syringe.
What does everyone else do for their LO's when sick to ease the stuffiness/snot/cough? And when do you feel safe taking them out in public? LO is fine now, but still has a very occasional cough. I doubt he's going to infect anyone now, but don't want to get dirty looks for taking him out in public.
