My son has a milk protein allergy and I am breastfeeding. Just wondering if you can eat goat's milk or goat cheese? If it's considered a cow's milk protein, then technically you should be able to eat it right?
some people can handle it and a lot can't. I have heard of many people react to goats milk and they were allergic to cows milk. Maybe there is a protein type that is similar. I never tried it b/c i was worried that he would react. Since you're BF, i would try it slowly -maybe try it in something baked (like a muffin). I wouldn't recommend giving him anything with goats milk directly.
But that is actually a good question to call the allergist on.. I'm curious if there is anything that a cows milk and goats milk has the same.
Form what I heard the milk protien in goat and cow's milk are similar.. so like pp mentioned it might be okay with some people, and not for other people.

Oddly a lot of goat milk products also contain cows milk. So read the labels. And as pp's said a lot of people that can't tolerate cows milk can't tolerate goats milk.
Every LO is different so it?s hard to say if your LO will react or not but I have heard that the proteins between cow?s milk and goat?s milk are very similar. I guess the only way to know for sure if your LO can tolerate it is to trial it. Good luck.
